Guided Walks

Our monthly guided walks exploring Hampstead Heath are essential for anyone interested in the history, conservation and ecology of the Heath. No need to pre-book, minimum donation of £5 per adult.

The Society also hosts occasional plaque walks in Hampstead village – these must be pre-booked and cost £10.

The money raised helps support the walks programme and the Society’s activities.

Birds of the Heath in Spring

Discover the returning birds of the Heath in the company of expert birder Pete Mantle. Find out who has arrived from where:  chiff-chaff, willow warbler, redstart, winchat, flycatcher - if they're there, Pete will find them...and maybe you'll find others... Bring binoculars and sturdy footwear.

Time: 9:00 am

Meet: Burgh House

Led by: Pete Mantle, Member of the Society's Heath Committee.

The Heath & Hampstead Society fights to preserve the wild and natural state of the Heath; to maintain the character and amenities of Hampstead; and to promote the study of local history, natural history and conservation.
